Why is it important to engage in good deeds, sow and brew good thoughts?

The confusing influence of maya (illusion) is the consequence of one’s accumulated activities in previous lives. You can escape maya through good consequence. If good activity has marked previous lives, any sinful tendency will and can be overwhelmed by virtuous tendencies in this life. You will have faith in Divinity and you will attach yourself to the Divine and spend your life on the basis of the Divine. On the other hand, those who have committed horrible crimes in past lives have the dreadful darkened vision, and it prevents them from seeing the Divine. Such a person is never reminded of God and His handiwork, never yearns for his own good and the good of others. They see things in false perspective. They revel in wickedness, and engage in vicious acts.

Why should we never try to reason the ways of the Divine?

Those who seek to know or lay down the causes for the Lord willing one way and not another are really on an impertinent adventure; so too are those who assert and describe His power and His plans through different characteristics, qualifications and limits, and also those who claim to know that the Lord will act only in a particular mode, and that the Divine Principle is of a specific nature and not otherwise! There can be no limit or obstacle to His Will. There can be no bounds to the manifestation of His power and His glory. He fructifies all that He wills. He can manifest in whatever form He wills. He is unique, incomparable, and equal to Himself alone. He is His own measure, witness, and authority.

SPARK FROM THE DEVINE ANVIL

What is the best way to be fully satisfied with our daily lives, whatever they are?

While engaged in the mundane activities and in sense objects, if you have no interest in the result or consequence, then not only can you be victorious over the feelings of “I” and “mine”, greed and lust, but you can be far away from all such traits. Liberating action is pure, faultless, unselfish, and unswerving. Its characteristic is the importance given to the idea of action without any desire of the fruits thereof (Nishkama Karma), which has been elaborated in the Bhagavad Gita. The practice of this discipline involves the development of Truth, Righteousness, Peace and Love (SathyaDharmaShanti andPrema). While on this path, if one also takes up the discipline of remembering the name of the Lord, where else can one acquire more joy and bliss? It will give the full est satisfaction

What is the sum and substance of this life? Can we get there?

The process of living has the attainment of the Supreme as its purpose and meaning. The "Supreme" means the Atma, the Divine Self who is present everywhere. Many great people have directed their intelligence towards the discovery of the omnipresent Atma and succeeded in visualising that Divine Principle. There is plenty of evidence of the successful realisation of the goals placed before themselves by preachers, pundits, aspirants and ascetics, when they tried earnestly to pursue them.

What is the barometer for a good student?

Balarama and Krishna studied under Guru Saandeepini, offering him the tribute of love and reverence. Giving joy to the teacher, studying well what has been taught, avoiding the pursuit of sensory pleasure and devoting oneself solely for the pursuit of knowledge - they lived by these guidelines. They never interrupted the discourse of the preceptor or interposed their will against his. They did not overstep his will or direction in any instance. They never challenged his authority or dared disobey his instructions. Though Balarama and Krishna were the repositories of Supreme Authority over Earth and Heaven, they gave their preceptor the respect and obedience that was due to his eminence and position. They were full of earnestness and devotion. They did not allow anything to distract them from their lesson.  That is how a good student should be, that is what Balarama and Krishna were!

Why is it super important to train the mind and senses well, young and early?

A cart can move only when two bullocks are yoked to it. And it can move safely only when the animals are trained to walk on roads and pull carts. Instead, if they have never stepped out of their shed, or if they have always moved only round and round the post to which they have been tied, the bullock cart cannot proceed! So also, the cart of inner consciousness (anthahkarana) cannot move by itself; it must be attached to the bullocks of intelligence (buddhi) and mind (manas), and made to follow their tracks. But, prior to the journey, the bullocks - intelligence and mind - should be conversant with the road to the village that the inner consciousness is eager to reach. They must be trained to proceed in that direction. If this is done, the journey will be easy and safe.

Service with a Smile

Service with a Smile

Have you ever experienced incredible service? Not just a brief smile and a “let me know if I can help you,” but the type of service where someone goes out of their way to provide you with the best experience possible with their company.
Maybe it was the shoe salesman at the retail store, the pizza delivery guy, or the customer service representative on the phone. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to experience quality service, then you know the type of impression it makes.
That’s the type of impression a young guy named Jonathan made on me. Jonathan was the manager at a sub shop right down the road from my office in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Every now and then, I would head over to the sub shop with my son. And, every single time, Jonathan would address us by name and call out our order before we could even speak.
This guy treated his customers well! You’re probably thinking, Well, he knew that was Dave Ramsey and his son. Well, he did…but that’s not why he treated us so well.
Everyone was treated with the same five-star service when they met Jonathan—bankers, construction workers, maids, mothers, teachers, corporate executives. Jonathan treated them all well. He knew their names and their usual orders—he went out of his way to make them feel comfortable while at the sub shop. That’s great service.
He smiled. He had energy. He came out from behind the counter and talked with the customers and cleaned tables. He was a leader in the business, and he served more than anyone else there. And, remember, this was a sub shop—not a world-class restaurant!
But something happened. One day, I returned to the sub shop and Jonathan was gone. He left to go back to college and get an education. But Jonathan already knew a lot more about business than many employees and entrepreneurs could ever grasp.
It all comes down to service. When you treat people with outstanding service, they are more than happy to buy stuff from you. It’s amazing, isn’t it?
Think about this: What if every business had a Jonathan? How could that type of positive, go-getter attitude transform businesses—and even the economy?
That’s why it’s so vital to understand the importance of having team members who are energized and supporting the company’s mission—whether it’s selling sandwiches or shipping boxes.
When you have someone like Jonathan, do everything you can to take care of him. Show your appreciation. Treat your team with dignity and respect, and they will treat you, your customers, and your business with dignity and respect.

Using Your Inner Guidance Syste

Using Your Inner Guidance Syste
You have incredible powers of mind and emotions that give you timely and accurate feedback in every area of your life.  In this newsletter, you learn how to "tune in" to yourself so you can make the right decision in every situation.

Using Your Inner Guidance System

We know that the body has a natural bias toward health and energy. It's designed to last for 100 years with proper care and maintenance. When something goes wrong with any part of our body, we experience it in the form of pain or discomfort of some kind.

We know that when our body is not functioning smoothly and painlessly, something is wrong, and we take action to correct it. We go to a doctor; we take pills; we undergo physical therapy, massage or chiropractic. We know that if we ignore pain or discomfort for any period of time, it could lead to something more serious.

How to Tell Right From Wrong

In the same sense, nature also gives us a way to tell emotionally what's right for us and what's wrong for us in life. Just as nature gives us physical pain to guide us to doing or not doing things in the physical realm, nature gives us emotional pain to guide us toward doing or not doing things in the emotional or mental realm. The wonderful thing is that you're constructed so that if you simply listen carefully to yourself-to your mind, your body and your emotions-and follow the guidance you're given, you can dramatically enhance the quality of your life.

Just as the natural physical state of your body is health and vitality, your natural emotional state is peace and happiness. Whenever you experience a deviation from peace and happiness, it's an indication that something is amiss. Something is wrong with what you're thinking, doing or saying. Your feeling of inner happiness is the best indicator you could ever have to tell you what you should be doing more of and what you should be doing less of.

The Messenger

Unhappiness is to your life as pain is to your body. It is sent as a messenger to tell you that what you're doing is wrong for you.

Very often, you'll suffer from what has been called "divine discontent." You'll feel fidgety and uneasy for a reason or reasons that are unclear to you. You'll be dissatisfied with the status quo. Sometimes, you'll be unable to sleep. Sometimes, you'll be angry or irritable. Very often, you'll get upset with things that have nothing to do with the real issue. You'll have a deep inner sense that something isn't as it should be, and you'll often feel like a fish on a hook, wriggling and squirming emotionally to get free.

Divine Discontent

And that is a good thing. Divine discontent always comes before a positive life change. If you were perfectly satisfied, you would never take any action to improve or change your circumstances. Only when you're dissatisfied for some reason do you have the inner motivation to engage in the outer behaviours that lead you onward and upward.

Listen to yourself. Trust your inner voice. Go with the flow of your own personality. Do the things that make you feel happy inside and you'll probably never make another mistake.

Action Exercises

Here are three steps you can take immediately to put these ideas into action.
First, listen to yourself and trust your own feelings. If there is a part of your life that causes you stress and unhappiness, resolve to deal with it.
Second, identify those areas of your life where you are dissatisfied or frustrated for any reason. What changes should you, could you make?
Third, remember that nature wants you to be happy, healthy, popular and prosperous. Any deviation from those conditions is a signal to you that action is necessary.

Developing faith in the Atma Principle and loving it earnestly is true worship. There is only one Divine Self. Feel that it is more loveable than any object here or hereafter—that is the true adoration you can offer to God. This is what the Vedas teach. The Vedas do not teach the acceptance of a bundle of frightfully hard rules and restrictions. They do not hold before you a prison house where man is shut in by the bars of cause and effect. They teach us that there is One who is the Sovereign behind all these rules and restrictions, One who is the core of each object, each unit of energy, each particle or atom and One under whose orders alone the five elements—ether, air, fire, water and earth—operate. Love Him, adore Him, worship Him - this is the grand philosophy of Love as elaborated in the Vedas.

If you tread the holy path of truth, righteousness, peace, and love, the Lord Himself will bestow on you, all that is needed and deserved! That will give you peace of mind. Offer everything to the Lord without any desire for the result; that indeed yields complete joy; that is indeed the easiest!  While it is very difficult to speak untruth and act against Dharma, it is very easy to utter the truth and walk the path of Dharma (righteousness). It is a very pleasant task to speak out the thing just as it is; one need not spend a moment of thought upon it. To speak of what is not, one has to create the non-existent! It also plunges one into fear and fantasy, into an atmosphere of restlessness and worry. So, instead of following sensory actions (Vishaya Karma) which offer all these troubles and complications, follow actions that liberate (Shreyo Karma) - th e path of Atmic bliss which is true, eternal, and holy.

What is the sublime message of the Vedas

INDIAN VIAGRA BAMBOO RICE

en Ways Bamboo Can Make You Healthier

From diet pills to air purifiers, people are always looking for a way to make themselves healthier. It's easier to make yourself healthier if you begin using a product that has been around for millennia, the bamboo plant. This woody grass is not only good outside your body but eating the shoots are good for inside your body as well and can help you stay healthy, or improve your overall health. Ten ways that bamboo can make you healthier include:
  1. No allergic reaction - Many people are allergic to natural fibers, such as wool. Bamboo has had the smallest number of allergic reactions with people, barely having any.
  2. Wicks away moisture - By wicking away moisture from skin, the wet skin doesn't have time to build up any bacterial colonies and also keeps from developing the rashes that wet skin can develop when irritated.
  3. Anti-bacterial - Bamboo is aggressively anti-bacterial. It has a natural property called bamboo kun that kills up to 70% of any bacteria attempting to incubate on the bamboo, be it in its natural form or fabric.
  4. Deodorizing - In today's world, people use more and more chemicals to ensure that they will smell pleasant to others. A way to overcome this is to take advantage of the deodorizing properties of bamboo in your clothing.
  5. Breathable - Healthy skin can't be confined inside tight clothing all the time. This can lead to rashes and other skin problems. Bamboo fabric is breathable; it doesn't cling to the skin even when the wearer is sweating profusely.
  6. Sustains temperature - Bamboo fabric is amazing in that it sustains a temperature fairly well. It keeps people cool when it's warm, and warm when it's colder out, and a normal body temperature is important for good health.
  7. Circulation - According to Salts Organic Clothing, bamboo fabric can actually be good for your circulation. Bamboo molecules absorb energy from the atmosphere, and then transfer them into energy for your body, promoting cell activation and good circulation.
  8. Blocks ultraviolet rays - The reason many beach cover ups are being made with bamboo is because bamboo naturally blocks the harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. This is important for healthy skin, especially for children and women who are pregnant.
  9. Low in fat - According to the Washington State Extension Service Brochure, bamboo shoots have been found to be low in fat and calories, which people are always concerned with when trying to eat healthy.
  10. High in nutrients - Bamboo shoots are also good for you because they are an excellent source of two nutrients that human bodies really need, fiber, and potassium. One serving of bamboo shoots can provide 10% of the fiber a human needs a day.
All of these reasons are great examples of why bamboo makes a person healthier. But don't just take our word for it, go out and find some bamboo sheets or a t-shirt, or have a healthy serving of bamboo shoots. You'll be feeling healthy in no time.
